In late 2022, I embarked on a three-week journey across Vietnam, which ended up being one of the most unforgettable vacations of my life. Being an admirer of Southeast Asian countries, I already anticipated having a fantastic time, but I was pleasantly surprised to have developed a deep affection for Vietnam and its people. One of the most enjoyable moments of my expedition was spending two nights and two serene days at Mia Nha Trang. Continue reading to discover what makes this resort so unique!
Mia Nha Trang is a boutique cliffside resort nestled in a secluded bay surrounded by lush tropical gardens and the clear waters of the South China Sea. It is an ideal destination for a romantic and relaxing holiday, the kind where you don’t do anything all day but eating, sunbathing and reading.
If you have never heard of Nha Trang, and are wondering what is special about the destination in the first place, Nha Trang is a coastal resort city in southern Vietnam known for its beaches, diving sites and offshore islands. The modern city centre spans alongside the beach promenade, lined with luxury hotels, seafood restaurants and beach clubs.

A Warm Welcome
I will start with my favourite thing about Mia Resort Nha Trang and that is the staff. Every employee at the resort was incredibly amiable, supportive, and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable.
Upon arriving at Mia Nha Trang, one cannot help but notice the resort’s verdant and thriving greenery. Apart from the beach and cliffs, the grounds are adorned with gardens featuring coconut palms and exotic blossoms such as white frangipani and fuchsia bougainvillea. The resort’s gardeners are constantly tending to the lush vegetation, ensuring that the grass and plants remain immaculate.
The name of Mia Nha Trang resort is derived from the Vietnamese term for sugar cane, which is a suitable choice since the resort places significant emphasis on maintaining a ‘green’ atmosphere in every aspect, including its appearance and implementation of environmental principles.
Location
The resort is located around 20 minutes from Cam Ranh Airport and 25-30 minutes from Nha Trang city centre by taxi. During our travels in Vietnam, we used the Grab app extensively to book a taxi, as it offered a highly affordable and convenient mode of transportation.
Initially, I was concerned about staying at a resort outside of Nha Trang with the inconvenience of being unable to come and go at our leisure and possibility of incurring a high taxi bill. However, upon arriving at Mia Nha Trang resort, my worries were quickly dispelled. The stunning scenery, comfortable villa, and delectable fresh food made it difficult to leave.
The only exception was when we needed to purchase a new trolley to accommodate our Hoi An shopping haul. Fortunately, Mia Nha Trang offers a complimentary shuttle service three times a day, making it convenient for us to venture downtown for shopping and dining.
Mia Nha Trang is perched on the cliffside, covering two bays both with sand beaches and memorable sea views.
To get around the resort, guests can simply call a buggy and a smiley and friendly staff member will take them to their destination – whether is the infinity pool at Mia Cove for a sunset dip or the lobby, the spa for a relaxing massage and back to your villa after a dinner at La Baia.
Mia Nha Trang is east-facing, meaning you’ll catch spectacular sunrises. However, by mid-afternoon, the sun drops behind the hills to the west, leaving the resort in the shade. The infinity pool at Mia Cove, where La Baia restaurant is situated, is the perfect spot to catch the last rays on sun and pretty sunset colours.
Garden Villas
Mia Nha Trang resort offers a diverse range of accommodation options, including beachfront and garden villas, as well as condos and villas with pools on their front terraces. The Garden Villas are nestled in the resort’s manicured gardens with easy access to the private beach. We could walk down to the restaurant and swimming pool in just a couple of minutes.
Each room and villa is built using natural materials – local stone, timbers, and granite – and designed to provide utmost privacy, nestled amidst lush greenery such as shrubs, lawns, coconut palms, and frangipani bushes. The resort has been carefully designed with eco-friendly principles at its core. The decor decor and style is clean, modern, elegant, and sophisticated.
Our villa had a spacious bathroom with bathtub and garden shower, and a full set of natural bath products and amenities.
A thoughtful addition to the villa was the Vietnamese coffee kit, which included a brewer, ground coffee, and condensed milk.
The garden villa is complemented by an additional 120 square meters of private, landscaped gardens and offer a view of the beach and sea. The best part of the garden? Lying back on a hammock and rocking the afternoon away.
Dining at Mia Nha Trang
There are two restaurants and a cocktail bar at Mia Nha Trang, offering guests a variety of Vietnamese and International cuisine. The Kitchen By The Sea specializes in local flare, seasonal salads and traditional Vietnamese cuisine including fresh local seafood. We try the Chef’s set lunch one day and were very impressed by the quality of the ingredients and rich flavours.
Every morning, a buffet breakfast is served at Kitchen By The Sea, offering an extensive selection of continental, Vietnamese, and South Korean dishes. In addition, a hot counter is available where chefs prepare various daily specials.
One morning, the chef cooked Bánh Xèo, traditional Vietnamese pancakes (making one without meat especially for my husband), a crispy rice flour crepe that I still remember as one of the tastiest foods I’ve tasted in Vietnam!
Instead of drinking the batch brew coffee available at the breakfast bar, I suggest asking the waiter for a hot Vietnamese Milk Coffee. My husband and I are addicted to its delicious taste and believe it to be the best Vietnamese coffee we have ever had.
The same location where the breakfast is served, you will find a beautiful swimming pool open all day, as well as access to the private beach.
Mia Cove
On the northern side of the bay, you will find the latest addition to Mia Nha Trang: new villas with private pools and La Baia restaurant with its infinity-edge pool. Underneath it, there’s also a private beach which is a great place to snorkel.
Specializing in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, La Baia restaurant (open in the afternoons and evenings) offers a delectable selection of homemade pizzas, pastas, and typical dishes such as Tuscan pork belly and aubergine parmigiana, all while enjoying the stunning views across the bay.
Private beach
While we spent most of our time by the swimming pools, Mia resort does offer a stretch of beautiful private beach if you prefer to swim in the sea. However, it’s important to note that the weather in November, when we visited, was very windy and the sea was a bit rough.

Ô Spa is a great place to relax and feel refreshed in a peaceful and calm environment. They use special treatments from Vietnam and around the world that are made from natural ingredients.
Good value for money
Mia Nha Trang is a luxury resort that offers great value for money with its exceptional quality, spacious and comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service. At just £155 per night (i.e. current basic rate for the Garden Villa in November 2023), this resort is an affordable option for those looking to indulge in a luxurious experience without breaking the bank.
Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, including multiple swimming pools, a private beach, a spa, and numerous dining options that offer a range of culinary delights. With its stunning location overlooking the bay and attentive staff who go above and beyond to cater to every need, Mia Nha Trang is a top choice for anyone seeking a memorable and affordable luxury vacation.
