Auction Against Hunger 2014

Hello there! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, as you might have noticed on my Instagram I'm currently away on holiday in Iceland. I'm having a great time driving around this beautiful island with my husband and I hope to share my photos with you soon.

In the meantime I wanted to post my favourite shots from last week's Auction Against Hunger event at Street Feast's Dalston Yard.

The evening was organised by Ben Maschler, co-owner of Islington's Draper's Arms, in collaboration with Jonathan Downey of Tweat Up, to raise money for the international humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger.

Auction Against Hunger was hosted by British chef Gizzi Erskine and featured chefs from some of the finest restaurants in London ( (and Nottingham) as well as a few Street Feast favourite traders.

Richard Jones of British band The Feeling was DJing with his wife and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

The long and mouth-watering menu featured – in no particular order:

Francesco Mazzei (L’Anima) – Vitello Tonnato (Veal with Tuna Sauce)

Anna Hansen (The Modern Pantry) – Krupuk-crusted Soft-Shell Crab in a Singapore Style sauce with pickled cucumber

Sat Bains (Restaurant Sat Bains) – Chicken Liver Muesli

Pascal Aussignac (Club Gascon) – Marmite Royal (silky duck flan topped with marmite sauce)

Neil Rankin (The Smokehouse) – Korean pulled pork with fresh apple kimchi

Naved Nasir (Dishoom) – Vada Pau (Bombay’s version of a chip butty)

Breddos Tacos – 10hr Chipotle Dexter Short Rib Taco with bone marrow pico, pickled habanero and smoked morello cherry

Pizza Pilgrims – Margherita bar (Neapolitan-style Margherita pizza with a choice of chilli, smoked garlic, anchovy, nduja, basil or rosemary oil on top)

Yum Bun – Steamed Pork Belly Buns with cucumbers, spring onion and hoisin sauce

Paul A. Young – Peanut Truffle and Chocolate Pork Scratchings (dark chocolate Brew Dog 5am Saint beer ganache, roasted salted peanut truffle, milk chocolate coated pork scratchings and chocolate maple syrup)

Meringue Girls – Rum, Lime & Coconut Meringues

1235 Donuts – Salted Caramel and Lemon Curd Donuts

While the guest enjoyed an evening of amazing food, drinks and entertainment, the money raised by the sold out event will fund Action Against Hunger humanitarian work around the world.

It was a fantastic event for a good cause and a pleasure for me to be there taking photos. Congratulations to all the organisers and the people involved to make it happen.
