How to Make Your Home Feel Like an Oasis

16/09/2021

We underestimate how important it is to make our home a oasis of peace and calm. It is important to create a space where we can retreat to at the end of a long day and relax. Today I am sharing with you three simple tips to transform your living space and fall back in love with your home.

We are all looking to make our homes feel more like an oasis. Whether because of a recent move, or other life change, all of us are searching for new ways to bring peace and tranquility into our lives. Depending on where you live and your personal preference, there are many ways that you can create this feeling in your home. In this blog post, we’ll go over some easy tips that will help you achieve the relaxing atmosphere of an oasis in any room of your house.

Home sweet home

1. Bring the outside, inside!

Adding plants to your design can make a huge difference. Not only do they add color and life to an otherwise boring space, but studies show that having plants in the home has many benefits for well-being and mental health (including reducing stress levels). So if you’d like to incorporate this into your design, be sure that any plant you choose will look good with the colors throughout your room! Popular houseplants include aloe vera, peace lilies, jade plants, ferns & bonsai trees.

Some plants are known for purifying the air by removing harmful toxins from the air, so why not invest in a few of these overachievers and let them optimize your air quality dramatically? Ferns are the perfect option because they only need water every few days and don’t require direct sunlight. They also come in a variety of different colors, which is great news since there is usually a fern to match any color scheme you can think of!

2. Incorporate lighter colors into your home

When it comes to interior design, lighter colors are often associated with relaxation and calmness. In this case, the saying “go big or go home” definitely does apply! So pick up a can of paint from your local hardware store and give one room, in particular, a makeover – you’ll be surprised at how much of a difference these subtle changes will have on your overall mood!

This is also an easy way to tie together different rooms in your house that may not normally match each other. For example: if you’re looking for ways to spruce up the bedroom but don’t want to spend too much money, simply painting the walls white will instantly add elegance and luxury without breaking the bank. Afterward, when choosing a new sideboard and other furniture, going for light or whitewashed options will also make a massive difference in how airy your home looks!

3. Utilize essential oils

Essential oils are very popular these days and for a good reason! They can help you relax, ease stress and even provide pain relief. We all have those days when we feel stressed and drained in general – this is when a nice relaxing essential oil can lift one’s spirits and help you feel calm and relaxed! The best part about essential oils is that there’s always an oil out there made specifically for whatever it is you’re trying to achieve – whether it’s fighting off illness, improving skin health, or helping you sleep better. So why not try one out and see for yourself?
